OUR HISTORY
1953
The Beefmaster logo is based on an iron cattle marker, which was discovered in the barn of The Duke of Bedford in England.
1983
Eighteen years after that he bought the farm Kromellenboog, in what is today the North West province, choosing it specifically for its ideal location in the heart of South Africa’s cattle country and with good water access from the Vaal River. Today it is still the home of the Beefmaster Feedlot.

First factory shop opened at processing facility

Three more retail outlets opened

Jacob van Reenen, a forefather of the owners of Beefmaster today, landed at the Cape of Good Hope. He was responsible for supplying beef to the ships at the port.

Lourie van Reenen began a small cattle feeding business

The Beefmaster abattoir and processing facility opened its doors in Kimberley. All of the Beefmaster Group cattle is processed here, as well as cattle from other feedlots.

Beefmaster Group is led by Lourie van Reenen alongside his two sons, Louw and Roelie, who are paving the way for new generations to continue to build on the trusted Beefmaster name.
