19 February 2025 – Beefmaster Group, Kimberley’s largest private employer, recently celebrated the dedication and commitment of its long-serving employees at two prestigious Long Service Award ceremonies. A total of 60 employees across its operations were honoured for their loyalty and invaluable contributions.

The first ceremony, held in Kimberley, recognised employees from the company’s meat processing facility and Feedlot operations in Christiana. The second event took place in Kempton Park, Gauteng, where staff from Beefmaster Retail were acknowledged.

“These ceremonies are more than just recognition events – they are a celebration of the incredible individuals who have helped shape Beefmaster Group into the company it is today,” says Cindy Nkgoeng, HR Manager at Beefmaster Group. “The loyalty and dedication of our long-serving employees are truly commendable and deeply valued.”

Recognising Years of Service

At the Kimberley ceremony, 54 employees were honoured across various service milestones:

  • 10 years of service – 35 employees
  • 15 years of service – 10 employees
  • 20 years of service – 4 employees
  • 25 years of service – 4 employees
  • 35 years of service – 1 employee

A special highlight of the event was the recognition of Mr. Abram Liau Sello, who has dedicated an extraordinary 35 years to the company.

At the Gauteng ceremony, six Beefmaster Retail employees were recognised for achieving 15 years of service, further underscoring the company’s culture of long-term commitment and growth.

A Culture of Growth and Opportunity

Nkgoeng emphasises that many of the award recipients started in entry-level positions and have steadily advanced to leadership roles within the company.

“This career progression is a testament to Beefmaster’s commitment to nurturing talent from within. Through comprehensive training, mentorship, and clear growth pathways, we empower our employees to build fulfilling careers,” she says.

She adds that the company’s promote-from-within philosophy not only rewards dedication and expertise but also preserves institutional knowledge, motivating newer employees to envision their own future at Beefmaster.

“As a major employer in Central South Africa, the long-term economic impact of stable employment extends far beyond individual careers. It creates a ripple effect in local communities, supporting families, enhancing skills development, and stimulating regional economic growth,” Nkgoeng concludes.
